In honor of the three-game series between the Washington Nationals and New York Mets that took place from Monday to Wednesday this week, I decided to revisit a game from a past Nats-Mets series.
On April 19, 2013, Mets SP Matt Harvey became the first pitcher in the modern era to win his first four games of the season and also give up no more than a total of ten hits (4/3/13: 1 H; 4/8/13: 3 H; 4/13/13: 2 H; 4/19/13: 4 H). His opponent that day was vaunted young ace SP Stephen Strasburg. During a game handily won by the Mets by a final score of 7-1, the home crowd at Citi Field began heckling Strasburg with a chant of “Har-vey’s better, Har-vey’s better!”
“Dark Knight” forever!
