Thomas Pannone Pitches 3rd Immaculate Inning in Jays History

RP Thomas Pannone, who made his debut as a starting pitcher with the Jays last year but was moved to the bullpen this year following the acquisition of SP Clay Buchholz, threw the third immaculate inning (three batters struck out on three pitches each) in Blue Jays history during their 8-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays at Rogers Centre on Sunday, striking out OF Avisaíl García, INF Brandon Lowe and INF Daniel Robertson.

Thomas Pannone became the third #BlueJays pitcher in history to toss an immaculate inning. Steve Delabar was the last one to do it. Roger Clemens also did it in 1997.

What I really enjoyed about this was that, unlike many of the other pitchers who have recently posted immaculate innings, Pannone is not a hard thrower, as his fastball averages around 89 mph. He is a finesse pitcher who relies on breaking balls and changing speeds, which is becoming less common in MLB.
