After yesterdays 4-1 victory, the Houston Astros entered tonight’s game looking for another road win to tie the World Series at 2-2.
Astros 8, Nationals 1 (box score)
W: José Urquidy
L: Patrick Corbin
The Astros scored two runs off Corbin immediately. Meanwhile, the Nats were unable to get anything going against Urquidy, who pitched five shutout innings.
Alex Bregman broke the game open in the 7th with a grand slam off Fernando Rodney. His final line for the night was 3-5 with one run scored and five RBI.
The Washington leg of the World Series will wrap up tonight with Game 5 at 8:07 PM ET. Matchup: Gerrit Cole (20-5, 2.50 ERA) vs. Max Scherzer (11-7, 2.92 ERA). Look for the winner to be the likely MLB champion. US President Donald Trump has also threatened to attend. However, the baseball gods have bestowed a small measure of mercy upon us, as celebrity chef José Andrés has been invited to deliver the ceremonial first pitch and not Trump.
